For this weeks work I really enjoyed doing it and making new things.
my favourite thing I did was my writing because we could be very creative and it was very fun to make and see the finishing product. I hoped you enjoyed looking at my work.
I am a Year 5 student at Papakura Central School in Auckland, NZ. I am in Room kahikatea and my teacher is Whaea Sharlee and Whaea Tamzin . This is a place where I will share my learning. Please note that some of it will not be complete, it will be my first draft. Remember to be positive, thoughtful and helpful when you leave me a comment.

ReplyDeleteZOOM Splash Flash CABOAT... catchy slogan and nice portmanteau with the name. Kia ora Ella. Your innovative eco friendly mode of transport was ka pai. I also liked your minecraft wharenui / marae build. The centre pou is cool showing strength and sharing the whakapapa of the marae. Well done on your maths this week. My advice though is to be careful of your placement of numbers. I noticed on Slide 17 with your marble question your thinking was correct but it was written as 8-20=13. I'm sure the answer was a typo but it should have been written 20-8=12 because in this case you are subtracting from the bigger number so the bigger number goes first. Other than that, tino pai to mahi. Keep it up.
ReplyDeleteKia ora Ella! What an awesome week of learning you have achieved. I enjoyed reading about the similarities and differences you came up with from reading about Dan's house and Nga Motu. I agree they are both big houses, with the detailed panelling in Nga Motu a significant difference. Your Car-boat design was so well done. The shape you used was very effective and would be something that could work in real life. Also your colour scheme was subtle and well balanced. The billboard you made looked very professional, you added pictures that highlighted how your creation could be used. The slogan was also very catchy, 'there in flash!' brought together your design and the idea that it was fast! Such great maths practise, you are working hard to understand how fractions work and are making excellent progress. Good work!
